A series of eight lithographs by the Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, the portfolio was published by the Brandywine Gallery.
Roberto Burle Marx was a distinguished Brazilian landscape architect, artist, and environmentalist, internationally recognized for his profound influence on modern landscape design. Integrating principles of modernism with a deep commitment to the use of native Brazilian flora, his work is characterized by bold, abstract compositions that harmonize art, architecture, and ecological sensitivity. Among his most notable projects are the Copacabana Beach promenade and Flamengo Park in Rio de Janeiro, as well as numerous collaborations with prominent architects, including Oscar Niemeyer, in the development of Brasília and other significant urban works. A committed advocate for environmental conservation, Burle Marx was instrumental in advancing the preservation of Brazil’s rich biodiversity.

A83 is a nonprofit organization with a tripartite mission to exhibit, publish, and promote experimental projects in architecture, art, and design. Building from the previous operation, John Nichols Printmakers & Publishers (1978 –1994), the organization continues to operate at the original location in SoHo as a printmaking studio, gallery, and growing archive. The 83 Grand Street location is used to produce exhibitions and installations, host workshops, and broadcast work to new audiences.
